The Assessment of Design of binocular objective system that including prism

Abstract
|

|
Purpose: We have designed a binocular objective system including prism.
Methods: The focal length of objective system was 120 mm, F/# = 4 and FOV = 2¡Æ. The cemented doublet lens was chosen as objective, and in accordance with the objective, its prism size was also decided The field angle was 2¡Æ and smell-scale, So, it was greatly influenced by spherical aberration, coma, and longitudinal chromatic aberration. Accordingly these influential factors were eliminated in priority. Aberration term were balanced by the objective lens and prism, and the rest aberration term can be balanced by the objective system and the eye-piece system.
Results and Conclusion: We have used a ray-fan, spot diagram and diffractive optical MTF to evaluate the optimization and properties of objective lens system that including prism.
